Wholistic Development Organisation (WDO) was set up in 2000 as the FAITH (Food, Agriculture, Income generation, Training & Health) project under Cambodia Action by Milet Goddard. Milet was the project director from 2000-2003 when she became an advisor to the current director Pok Peuvthida (Thida). The project was then localised and has operated as a local NGO since January 2006.

The project was supported by TearFund to test development strategies which would encourage local Christians to practice transformational community development in their villages. The relative success of this work has led to the expansion of activities into further villages and in some cases former beneficiaries have led extension work into neighbouring areas.
