Marie Hill?& Alex Waller marry in Rugby

A surprise for many but a few people might have wondered what was up when they heard that a science teacher from Lancashire travelled to Cambodia both at Christmas and at Easter.?Alex Waller?was exploring the possibilities of finding a job in Southeast Asia - but he may also have had other things in mind!

Marie is a consultant to Rajana. and an Affiliate with Cambodia Action. She works with groups of suppliers selling designer items and crafts through her shop near the Old Market in Siem Reap called??SAOMAO?.

Marie and Alex have known each other for quite a few years but their affection for each other developed over recent months. They both needed to see God open some doors before they could move ahead. Alex was prepared to work?in Cambodia but he needed to get a job in Siem Reap and he had a house to sell in Rochdale?.?Marie and Joseph had planned a visit?home this summer and they were?already in the UK before all these things had been resolved.

Family introductions followed and the Registrar?in Rugby "just happened" to be available on the one Saturday that all the Hill family were available. So, on a beautiful sunny (and dry!) Saturday 14th July, after an early morning?service conducted by the Associate Pastor of Alex's church, they were married at the Registry Office at 11.00am. We wish them God's blessing in their future lives and service in Siem Reap.

After sorting out practical details of the house sale, Alex has?now gone to Cambodia?to?get ready for the new term?for his teaching post?at the British School in Siem Reap. {mosimage}Meanwhile, Marie and Joseph? visited a friend in Swizterland to help promote the work in Cambodia undertaken by??Partage La Vie ("Sharing Life" in English) - a Swiss-based NGO that?was established in 2005.

For those who like such details, the Bride wore a suit of cream Cambodian silk that she had designed.?It had?been made by her staff in Siem Reap. "I need something to go to a wedding when I am in England" she told them!
